A Large Cabinet of Geological Microscope Slides, Cabinet, English, late victorian, unsigned but in the style of 'Smith & Beck (note shield shaped escutcheon and handle design), with 28 blue velvet lined drawers each capable of holding 33 standard slides, 924 slides in total, the slides represent a diverse collection covering many areas of geology and petrology, with slides from preparers including; J. R. Gregory & Co, Kensington; Stoddart, Bristol; J. Spencer, Halifax; Lomax, Bolton; W. Hemingway, Derby; Russel, London; H. Boecker, Wetzlar; M Hensoldt, Wetzlar, and two collections of slides; the first by Thomas Murby & Co with a printed catalogue of the slides, the second collection with labels for 'Collection of W. W. Watts' labeled and numbered
